Analysis of The Sun in the Fog
Abby Kesington 1979 (Lagos)
The fog falls heavy and low today
Alas! I am the sudden burst of sunshine.
I am bold, bright and beautiful
The foggy mist can’t dull my shine.
Like the sun, I dare shine bright
Bold, yellow and in all gold
Emitting light to all who cross my path
Also burns vehemently when stared at disdainfully.
Too flashy, showy or even gaudy?
Foes will need more than dark brim shades
to protect from my audacious glare
As I turn the mist to unbearable heat.
Like the sun, I rise without boarders
But cloudy naysayers call it pride
They try to stifle and black me out
Alas! I am the sun, created to shine, I rise above impediments and shine.

About this poem
It's an inspirational poem. It was written on a very foggy morning in Houston, TX. I was dressed in all sunny colors despite the gloomy day.
