Analysis of A poem from the void
Sometimes a good poem
Is a voice that soothes,
A thought that has been yours,
For years now.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one you can’t write,
Is the one you have daydreamed of,
And don’t find in a nightmare.
You can’t figure out
Where if it lies in,
The morbid roads, or,
The dodged destinations.
Sometimes a good poem
Is a promise,
Full of strength,
But no intention to fulfill it.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the best friend that you’ll ever have,
Unknown words holding your hands
Till you’ve known them like no one.
Sometimes a good poem
Is a song
Like that of a summer bird;
Is a platonic affair of spices,
Simmering at the slightest heat
But so rich in flavour
That you almost feel it is passionate.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one that places all its bets on you,
For you to lose everything to it;
Knows
How sweet your cupcake,
How bitter your coffee,
How bright your day,
How sad your smile,
How genuine your words,
How true your love,
How abandoned your memory,
How lonely your company,
Is.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one that can be enclosed,
And kept safe in your diary;
Is the one that can be read
Without knowing how to,
Is the one that remembers to say
Good bye
Before it becomes vulnerable as death;
Is that one that brings back love
From the graveyard.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one without sermons or preaching,
One without pain,
One without grief.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one without the need to recuperate,
One that always tends to infinity,
One without questions
But, all the answers you’ve discovered;
Is the one without words,
But all of them weaved together
In strands of verses that
Sound like hymns.
Sometimes a good poem is
A gain,
A gibberish,
A glum.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one,
That makes you write better.
Sometimes a good poem
Is the one that exists
For you as a purpose.
Sometimes a good poem
Just is.
