Standing, waiting, wondering nervously, uncertain, anxiety filled with sweating palms. Does this count? Will it even matter? What does it mean? Can I make a difference?
Inhale, exhale, small steady steps...Nervousness disappears and excitement, pride, resilience fill its place.
It does count! It does matter! I can make a difference!
Cast my ballot, watching the voting poll machine inhale my ballot slowly but with assurance. Pride filled my chest like a father watching a child's first steps.
It does count. It does matter. I am making a difference.
