Analysis of Infusion
Kaci Tami 1960 (Vatukoula)
Infusion
Tick, tick, tick
Tick, tick, tick…
The Emergency room wall clock
Taunts me, insults me
As it wiles away the day
The smell of antiseptic pervades the room
Whilst I lie facing a blank wall
Listening to my state-of –the-art
IMED infusion controller
Slowly dripping
Someone else’s bloody concoction
Of Rhesus O Positive
Donated sometime prior
Now saving my blood starved body
This life giving elixir
Readily and greedily sucked up
As it trickles into me via canula
Attached to my right arm
Drip, drip, drip
Tick, tick, tick,
Drip, drip, drip,
Tick, tick, tick,
SLURP!

About this poem
This poem is about my experiences when I get blood transfers when I was anaemic. The sounds and emotions that I go through when I am undergoing the process
