Analysis of Broken soul

Tosha 1984 (Greenville)

That hole in my chest  where a heart used to be, that's turned into the black epitome?
I loved and loved hard,
My heart was put aside with disregard.
So this thing that used to be my heart,  has been broken and shattered into many tiny parts.
There is no more healing or mending, sadly it  just keeps breaking.
This once beautiful heart that shined so bright, well it's dead and cold and will never see the light.
