Analysis of Flight

I don't wanna move
There's a bird sleeping on my shoulder
But If I don't move
The weeds will take over
My feet and I'll be a waste
I need to get food for her
The bird on my shoulder
She can't fly yet and when
She will I don't know
But I'll startle her if i move
And I'll starve her if I don't
And the neighbors are watching me
Stand still and tremble quietly
And they whisper like I don't hear them
As they mouth Oh what a fool
But I know they've sent out birds
Who've never returned
And I know they've kept birds
Who've died in their laps
And I know they're more scared
Than I ever will be
For the bird on my shoulder
As it sings quietly
