Analysis of As I look into your eyes
As I look into your eyes, the eyes that were passed down for generations. The eyes of the man who raised me and my twin sister as his own.
The man who I would draw in kindergarten when asked to draw our fathers.
The man who was always there,
At every play, every birthday.
As I look into your eyes, I see the waves of the blue sea. I see the story’s that you told me of your time in the navy. I see nothing but the ocean. The ocean that goes on forever.
When I look into your eyes, i see your love, I see your grief, I see your pain. I see my pop-pop.
You ask me who I am.
You ask me who you are.
You’re lost.
Lost at sea
