Analysis of Too Bothered To Ask

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Too bothered to ask,
Of another who has claimed to really know...
Someone they talk about,
From inside out and head to toe.
How that someone to claim to be known,
Feels.
Wherever alone they may go.
With the doing the best they can,
To adapt and adjust to obstacles faced.
Without an exit or escape in place.
Or erase negative opposition.
On a daily basis.
Not even a psychologist,
Nor magician knows this.
Yet quick people seem,
To recommend or suggest their advice.
Regardless of themselves not having,
Experience that qualifies them...
To fit and then walk in another's shoes.
Or an opinion given enough to convince,
Their comments made makes any sense.

And...
Few honest when asked,
Why is it they find it difficult to sit and listen...
With an open mind and mouth closed,
To another expressing...
How their life to live goes?
They will often respond to say,
Why should I do that?
When others are apparently too bothered,
To ask how I solve my problems and issues.
Yet could care less about that.
Then expect me to patiently listen,
How their parents and childhood...
Have affected the messed up lives,
No one gives them time to hear about!

'So...
You are saying,
The people of today...
Are too bothered to ask others,
How they feel about anything.'

'No.
What I am saying is this,
If people are aware of the smell of B.S.
Coming closer to wherever they may be?
Why bother to get involved or invite,
Something already known to be familiar!
Growing up to become an adult,
Is difficult enough as it is.
Than explaining to another,
What steps they should take.
Without finding excuses to make,
24/7.
As if someone has a magic wand.
They are prepared to give up.
And then allow it borrowed indefinitely!
However...
There is one exception I would make.'

'Oh yeah?
And what would that be?'

'If I should hand over my magic wand,
To have it borrowed indefinitely?
I want the expense of that action,
Paid to me in cash.
And on a weekly basis guaranteed.
Looking for anyone who owes me money?
Is not the fool I am to be.'

'It shouldn't be all about money.'

'So right you are.
It shouldn't be.
But...
If I am going to sit and allow,
My mind to get messed up.
And patiently tolerate it done,
Listening to nonsense?
In today's economy threatened by inflation?
Deflated will not be my pockets.
No.
I have the remedy to stop it!
Pay up or leave with that agreed.
I was not raised to be a fool!'
