Analysis of Feelings

Feelings 2005 (Johannesburg)

They make us who we are
The moments of happiness that seep deep into our memory
The memory that we feed on for hope, for strength and even times of heartache
These feelings consume our thoughts and cloud our judgment
This thing inside me, that you all call emotion
Is what breaks me most of the time
And with each crack
Those happy moments slip right through and are forgotten
I try to catch them, each time but
Those words are the words that stop my every move
Try, just try to bring more memories of
 joy, peace and love
so that they can replace what I feel
Which is Hurt that you... Blurt.

About this poem

This is a poem where I speak about how feelings go deeper than we think. Ironically I wrote this poem based on a judgment made about my first poem ever, by someone close to me
