Analysis of breakfast at ten

morning conversations,
so steady with the breeze.
peaceful eyes, like autumn,
kindly waiting for a freeze.

piano notes, tasteful jokes,
tremble on the keys.
a dim-lit room, with purple,
flower blossom on your tree.

some fresh air greets us
with laughter through the blinds.
her favorite coat, she holds it close,
it smells like lavender and thyme.

no question on sudden sorrow,
or telling how it ends.
so, we drink coffee in the morning
and have breakfast right at ten.

About this poem

a peaceful evening with someone you start to adore and unsure of the outcome. It's about savoring a moment because it's difficult to think about if it will last.
