Analysis of Age
Age is….
Well, age
Is not the wrinkled skin,
The waisted years
The inner tears
The lack of mirth.
It is not the thinning hair
And creeping girth.
It’s not the timeless aches,
The crippling agues of life’s mistakes;
It’s not regretting honesty.
Age is….
Well age
Is the subtle twist in what is said,
The shade of truth,
The nuance of what is left unsaid,
The hidden lie.
