Analysis of New Covenant Ministry
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Christ is the mediator,
Being a new covenant;
As a negotiator,
And being the eminent.
For the promise we receive,
Eternal inheritance;
To all of you who believe,
Through committed repentance.
As where a will is involved,
The death of the one who made;
Will of the testate dissolved,
No longer the will that strayed.
A will takes effect at death,
Not a force when made alive;
Willing no longer with breath,
As spiritual strength to survive.
Neither the first testament,
Dedicated without blood;
Neither the first covenant,
Inaugurated the flood.
Each commandment of the Law,
In which Moses had declared;
The blood of Christ clears a flaw,
So eternal life is spared.
The blood of the testament,
Which God has enjoined in you;
Commands the new covenant,
As His Word will continue.
To sprinkle blood on the tent,
And the vessels for worship;
The ministry testament,
That we do drink from the cup.
Under the Law purified,
Through the forgiveness of sin;
The blood of the crucified,
Allows new life to begin.
