They rode their horses cross the desert

The distance between them
Was not that far apart
They agreed to meet on Saturday
At the dance with the lights down low
That was the evening
Juanita first kissed Joe

Juanita lost her mother
Seven years ago
That’s when Joe’s little brother drowned
In the Gulf of Mexico
El Paso planned a festival
To honor those who died
Dia de los Muertos
Was to celebrate their lives
That day they both remembered
The loved ones that they lost
Didn’t want to be alone any more
They had fallen deep in love
