Analysis of As One in Christ
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Remember that at one time,
You in the flesh Gentiles;
Considered it as a crime,
Circumcised a lifestyle.
For that, you were at that time,
Were separated from Christ;
While being in your prime,
Iniquities have enticed.
Strangers of the commonwealth,
Aliens to the promise;
Lacking a spiritual health,
Not concerned about justice.
You have no hope without God,
But through Christ you are not far;
His blood is cleansing where flawed,
Making you a shining star.
Because He is our peace,
In His flesh has broken down;
A divided wall to cease,
Having worn a thorny crown.
Abolish the fleshy law,
Expressed in the ordinance;
Make your peace to cleanse the flaw,
Let the Lord be your defense.
Be reconciled to God,
In one body through the cross;
Giving Him honor and laud,
Give hostility a loss.
For He came in preaching peace,
That peace to those who were near;
Of spiritism increase,
For all those that will revere.
For through Him we have access,
To the Father through Spirit;
Of our faults, we confess,
Guaranteed to inherit.
