Analysis of With Disbelief

We live in times to find it common to hear,
People arguing over what is seen.
Yet can not come to agree,
As to what it was they saw to see.

To then be joined by others,
Not there to see anything at all.
Although quick to describe,
The events to occur from beginning to end.

And when the police arrive,
Wanting to calm down escalating tensions.
People leaning from windows,
Where they live nearby.
Claim to know nothing,
About who is telling lies.
To then deny,
Of knowing anyone who would call the police.

'I can not believe what is going on.'

'I can not either, officer.
When we were both out walking our dogs.
I make it my business to scoop up,
My dog's poop.
However...
He said to me,
His dog's poop is biodegradable.
And in time will go unnoticed.
Because his dog is a vegetarian.'

'But that woman leaning out of her window,
Claims she's been feeding both dogs...
Chicken nuggets for weeks!'

'So...
Help me understand,
Why I am here?'

'Someone must have called,
The police department.
And you might have been told,
Poop scoopers...
Were about to shoot up the neighborhood.
Over a vegetarian dog.
Blamed for a pooping not witnessed to do.
And...
You are here,
Because someone reported...
Domestic violence going on.
And you are here,
Representing the police.
With a hope you can put an end,
To our mental issues!'

'And...
The people leaning out of the windows?
Who are they?'

'They use to live in the suburbs.
But when they renovated the neighborhood,
And destroyed the ethnic diversity of it.
Those who could afford to buy the condos...
Now profile and monitor,
Every move we make that makes this place...
A preferred destination to live in.'

'None of this makes sense.'

'And...
Believe it or not?
Before those folks moved in,
Everything here was peaceful.
Quiet and neighborly.
Then someone decided...
Upscaling the neighborhood,
With condos and expensive restaurants...
Would attract the elite,
To patronize the ethnic diversity.
Forced to move away.
Taking with them reasons why,
People were attracted to come to visit.'

'None of this makes sense.'

'You've got to live it to know it believed!'
