Analysis of "Let me take you back in time"

Let me take you back in time.
When our forefathers Fought to be free.
When liberation sometimes brought together unity.

When diversity wasn't brand new.
And faith was put in God's hands just so a culture would make it through.
Tough times were all we knew.

Let me take you back in time.
When our older Generation Struggled just to wear shoes.
When the "White Man" told most individuals what to do.
A $1.50 was all we knew.

Let me take you back in time.
When the civil liberties union heard our cries.
When our rights were in violation and people would march to get the message through. Our Forefathers left a legacy behide, so therefore we cannot say that we don't have time.

No! Let me take you back in time... There was sweat and lots of tears. Not only was there cotton... But there was fear.

Let me take you back in time.
When intimidation was what they used.
When your choice of words held no meaning.
And your words were very few.

Let me take you to the present time.
When diversity has a meaning.
When self-confidence becomes a threat-
When citizenship is what is more important.
When the march for war is more important than fighting for violations of civil rights.

Let me take you back in time.
When the less you say is better
Now in the present time....
You should leave a very brief message or should I say let me take you back in time.
