Analysis of That Is Why Peter Said

That Is Why Peter Said
 Author: Mark V. Markov

When Jesus Christ went to go
To sit at right hand of God the Father
He instructed us to get baptized
And to teach others
What He commanded us

That is why Peter said
To the crowd that believed
And asked him what to do
He told them to get baptized

He did not say
You all are under grace
Just acknowledge (Just believe)
That Jesus exists
And ignore His instruction.
See James chapter two, verse nineteen.

Peter told them to get baptized.
Same as the Ethiopian
When Philip shared the gospel with him
Saw water and asked to get baptized.

Philip didn't tell him that he is under grace
And that baptism is not necessary.
Baptism is necessary for those who
Believe and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior
As a result of obedience to our Lord
While living on the earth.

That is why Peter said
To the crowd that believed
And asked him what to do
He told them to get baptized.

James 2:18-19 (ESV)

19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

Acts 2:37-41 (ESV)

37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”

41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

Acts 8:12 (ESV)

But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 8:34-38 (ESV)

34 And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?”

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.

36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”

38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

1 John 5:3 (ESV)

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

1 John 2:3-4 (ESV)

3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.

4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

John 14:15 (ESV)

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Revelation 14:12 (ESV)

Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus
