Analysis of A New Beginning

I tried it all
Alcohol, amphetamines, to name a few
In life's pot of coffee
It was a failed brew
Causing my downfall

Oceans of sorrow
Tidal waves of grief
Drowning in despair
Losing all belief
Can i hope for a better tomorrow?

Hurt and pain followed my path
I plucked negativity from thin air
Happiness was not around
In my atmosphere
Was it the universe's wrath

Age and defeatism
Kept pounding on my door
All day and through the night
Hammering forevermore
Did i create my own prison

Finding the supreme one
Has now given me hope and faith
I feel your presence
Knowing its never too late
The joy of life has just begun.
