Analysis of Fly Dad Fly

Fly dad fly, spread your wings and fly,
Fly dad fly, with your wings so high.
We may be far apart, but you will always remain
forever in my heart.
Though you are no longer here, does not mean,
that you are not near.
Take Coles hand and place her under your wing,
father and daughter together,
that's such a beautiful thing.
For me to have seen your smiling face,
I know you're in a much happier place.
You may be physically gone and not able to touch,
but I got the chance to tell you goodbye
and that I love you so much.
I now have one more angel on my shoulder,
you to watch me, as I grow older.
Fly dad fly, spread your wings and fly,
So high that you can touch the sky,
happy and carefree, waiting to see my dad again,
your daughter, that's me.
Fly dad fly, spread your wings and fly,
Fly dad fly, with your wings so high.
From the heavens and back again,
you and Cole arm in arm and together again.
Till we meet again, you and Cole will never part,
Rest in peace, I love you dad, you are forever in my heart.

About this poem

I wrote this poem in 2011 after the death of my Dad. He meant the world to me, he literally had a smile on his face when he passed. I knew why, because he was with my younger Sister who passed in 2006.
