Analysis of I Am No Hero

Blade Wood 2005 (Washington)

I am no hero

I am the plague that haunted Europe

Beware the sight of my black tailcoat

Whipping away into the night

I am the apocalypse

That you have come to fear

So remember when you see me

To never come near.

I am no hero

I will bring you to tears

As you watch your loved ones fall to me…

The ones you so held dear

The darkness I bring with me is unparalleled

The despair that fills my lungs

I gift to others

So I can finally have some fun.

The chaos that the world brings

I feel obligated to apologize, for it was caused by me

I bask in the pain

In which you scream.

I am no savior

Bringing with me the reassuring light of the sun

I'm the one that plunges you into darkness…

The one that laughs as you run.
