Analysis of The Mirror

I come to a sudden halt when I see
someone staring back at me
a picture of a women
with a strange look in her eye
who’s that? I wonder out loud
I’m not sure, not really
Staring at her longer, then I understand
I know who she is, sort of
but she’s changed so much
since the last time I saw her
only her eyes are the same
and that look, I’ve seen it before
it’s a reflection, an echo
an image etched in my mind
from the last time we met
as I reach out to her
she reaches towards me
then I know, as I feel the coolness
of the hard, flat surface of a mirror
