Analysis of A Prayer

So peaceful this feeling
       it's hard to compare
Because when you pray
       God's always there
You can be tiny
       or you can be tall
It doesn't matter
       not really at all
No need to practice
       just be yourself
For he's always within you
       ready to help
A lifetime of love
       will come to your heart
And no power on earth
       can tear you apart
Morning or night
       or during the day
You'll always feel better
when you take time to pray

About this poem

I wrote it for young children. Spent time in a church, primarily black, next to a housing project. The children and there parents inspired this poem. Written early 1990's.
