Analysis of For You, I Write This Happy Song

Sheila M Clavo 1958 (Hospital)

What a cool person you are
Yet the miles between us are very far
You make me laugh all day long
It's for you I wrote this happy song
You're tall, handsome, droll, and debonair
For life's changes are just not fair
We expect to grow old with our mate
It's the distance between us that I hate
On a day like today I'm thinking of you
Even as I sit with nothing to do
I'm wondering why you linger on my mind
Still the sentiment I have for you, I'm not denying
Conceivably one day we'll be together
Just hope there's no bad weather
Where there's a will, we know there's a way
Which is why I wrote this happy song for you today
Sending you many hugs, all my love, & a big kiss
On this Valentine's Day, is my wish

Sheila M Clavo

Southern Lady, Poet, disabled, whose teachers pushed me to write in elementary school. I didn't have confidence so I was a Girl Scout, volunteered, and had a lot of Barbie Dolls as well as an Easy Bake Oven. I didn't stop writing. People kept being supportive with my work. Suddenly I found myself writing on s regular basis. In no time at all I was honored all around as a Poet. It's been about 50years. I've enjoyed every step in the process.  more…
