Analysis of El Diablo Saloon

Every bottle on the shelf tells a story
about some young fool’s fall from glory.
Stop and listen for a moment if you can
for in the bottom of the bottle lies the man.

Some won’t quit drinking til ‘last call’
others keep on drinking til they fall.
Some die from drinking...they just fold,
so it’s said…”When they stopped…they stopped cold.”

Some think the world has much more class
when seen thru the bottom of a wine glass.
They claim their thinking is so much quicker
which they attribute to the vintage not the liquor.

Every bottle on the shelf tells a story
about some hapless man or woman’s fall from glory.
Stop and listen for a moment if you will.
Have a drink. Have another. Have your fill.
