WALKING IN MY SHOES

Sonya R Hines 1965 (Buffalo)

There's something about walking in my shoes to trade with me, you shouldn't choose. My shoes have been through a many miles, not to mention all the different styles that have come and gone and come back again. They've been through sand, rain, and wind. People laugh but, I keep on walking as the soles tear more they start stalling. I say come on, shoes just a few more feet. You bought me through snow, hail and sleet. You traveled a many years throughout my life. You've been good to me like a blade to a knife. I'm growing old in age and so are you, but you took me all the places I expected you to. Out of all the things I might have bought used, you, were the best old pair of shoes.
