Life Of Dawn, Joy And Ashes

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

Life Of Dawn, Joy And Ashes

Beginnings are delicate times of dawn,
Joy and ashes that require attention
Details and care expect
Our complete engagement
Just a flower so soft and fragile
Needs soil, sunshine and rain
So as to grow nourished
All life forms know
Delicacy demands focus
To survive and succeed.

No living or sentient thing can move on
Without a conscious effort
And the ability to adapt
Knowing its existence
Depends on concentration,
Composure and the right response
To change and balance
In a never ending cycle we live
Our universe depends on
Thoughts and right action.

Dawn, Joy and Ashes write our stories
Each page of our lives is streaming
Through time and space
Making an indelible impact
Marking our way across
A cosmic source burns within us
Star stuff we can shape
The world around us
Let’s be honest scribes
And contribute a meaningful verse.
