Wantless Now
Convenience is an easy way to think
A Popular opinion formed by money men who wink
We act like puppet parrots made of flesh and blood
Repeating most viewed narratives, brainwashed by a flood
Of force-fed ads and standards by which we all should choose
The highest bidder always seems to make it in the news
Addicted burnt out voyeurs, fiddles play us like a toy
As we sit locked onto screens seeking temporary joy
White sheep nod and smile agreeing with the masses
Stuck with mucky slowed down thoughts, minds that wallow in molasses
Warped and hammered nails praised for their uniqueness
Given a piece of validation, while being told what’s right to think is
Hidden behind opinion the truth is hard to find
A vulnerable reality tested by the mind
With bashful contradiction we hesitate and lose
The right of love that is within is lied to and misused
The clock ticks from disappointment and fearful competition
As self-concerning ears will never truly listen
Driven by distraction helping life pass us by
Wanting more than can be taken with expectations in the sky
Peace of mind can be attained above anxious desires
A way to calm the burn and cool internal fires
Connecting with the moment, dancing, loving, playing, singing
Let's forget about devices and silence all the ringing
Together with compassion we can illuminate as one
Living in one time on one earth with one sun
When the light of truth is felt so pure
One love for now can feel no fear
