Alan Berkeley Thomas has been writing verse since his schooldays. In March 2006 Alan won the title of Daily Mirror People’s Poet Laureate for his poem ‘When My Love Is Far Away’. The judges were Daisy Goodwin and the UK's 'real' Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy.
