I grew up on the East Coast, having always felt the call for somthing new I moved as far west as I could. In the vast wild wilderness I found myself; through tears, laughter, sweat, sorrow, friendships, loss, and love. Love was has always seemed to drive my creative spirits. Not always the happy feelings of love but the melancholy loss of it. A yearning for that which cannot be obtained. Unlike my pen-to-paper I am not a pessimistic person. I find joy in nature, my daughter, friends and family. I choose to find happiness in every day. I've always been very private about my art, so sharing one of my poems took a lot of courage. I hope my works will be enjoyed!

As the Ocean

You my love are as the ocean,
turbulent and gray.
Always coming closer,
yet further you go away.

At the edge of a precipice
to peer in your soul.
Dove deep into the water
towards an unknown goal.

Sailing ‘round your heaven,
I wandered...

I read all 150 poems. This by far stuck out the most. It was exquisitely written. The realness, humor, story, view point, emotion and rhyming were perfect. I would love to read more by this writer. I would love to see this poem place because it is truly a winner!
