childhood is mostly a blur,
like morning fog after rain,
but there are a few memories
that are clearer than day.

one I'll never forget
is at the age of nine,
when most children play in the sun,
my first thought of death entered my mind.

Here I stand before you,
a victim of your love.
Intoxicated by your sweet aroma,
I could never get enough.
I drown in a pool of autumn leaves,
staring into your eyes,
not wanting to look away, no,
I don’t care if I die.
