Silent Sorrow

This ghost of a moon
dancing between indigo clouds
no more the smile
of an old friend

time has withered my sight
blurred treetops
bubble like foam
I'm better off alone in this forest.

Still the owl can be heard
crystal clarity condensed...

Dahlia’s flood the borders edge
bursting shape into life
confetti colours of fragmented rainbows
their heavy leaf contained only
by the crewcut grass verge of old.

Rain patters a shimmering on the tarmac
snaked path following the autumn...
