SHOOTING STARS

Christopher David Mears 1982 (Indianapolis) –

Shooting stars,

may last forever,

although,

we know,

that they do,

fade away soon.

Unlike you and I,

that shall always be together;

sharing this hemisphere,

existing,

under the same moon.

I gaze upwards,
illuminated under,
this zenith's brightest stars,
I think of you and I;
and my heart swoons.

With you,
I am beyond wealthy;
assests totaling,
much, much more,
than your average tycoon.

With your hand,
held within mine,
my hope floats higher,
then the largest hot-air balloons.

Your love,
is out of this world baby;
certifiable,
crazy.

This admiration is not merely
unique or special,
researchers could only,
caterorigize it as celestial.

My love for you is alien,
so obviously,
out of this world.
You know,
like ET?
Extra-Terrestrial.

My love for you is huge.
Gigantic: you know it's massive.
As you orbit around my mind,
I can only sit passive;
thinking,
that taking a rocket,
towards this apex
would just be useless,
and cheating.
Becuase,
as you take me there,
already,
the space,
inbetween I and thecosmos,
is ever-fleeting.

I know what happens,
when stars collide.
Everything changes,
and you just can't hide.
It is now,
within the same constellation
we reside.

Shooting stars,

may last forever,

although,

we know,

that they do,

fade away soon.

Unlike you and I

that shall always be together;

sharing this hemisphere,

existing,

under the same moon.
