LOVE LIFE

In mourning I struggle ever to rise.
To visit the bed where you now rest
Eyes close for another night's approach
Dreams I feel are mere wispish request
I make no wish, as I expect no miracle
Yet I touch in hope where you laid abreast
To find it devoid of warmth or impression
Abiding affection desire a soothing caress
My world a maze where no exits exist
Through pain of such love ever bereft
I ask, "How is life really for the living?"
With limitations so attractive to death
