Coastline

Robert Haigh

We lived there,
on the edge.

The jagged coastline
of our love.

We weathered
many a storm,

and yet,
we parted peacefully.

Still friends,
but still a mystery.

Where does love go
when it disappears?

Does it really die?
Or does it move on,

round the headland,
waiting and hoping?
