Living Death

In the basement of my discontent                                                   I shunned the world with the rules l bent                                   My mind sedated, lost and confused                                          Glaring t.v. my modern muse                                                       

Feigning control and Normalcy
Tell the dog of all I see
I find no way no way in sight
Taking refuge in bottle and pipe

No one can touch me all bunkered up
Block out the noise except my pup
Somewhat blind and self medicated
Only distraction programs slated

I own myself and and am quite happy
I tell my friend who sits there laughing
With charity whiskey and purloined smoke
Fight back reality and society’s yoke
