Ghost of a Memory

You are
the ghost
of a memory
from the
distant past

I turn a
cobwebbed
corner
in my mind

And suddenly
there you are

Long forgotten
it seemed;
but your memory
refuses to die

Should I laugh
or maybe cry?

The laughing
left before you did
and the crying
quickly followed

Just a smile now
for old times' sake
