Do you remember all of those shooting stars we’d see, Right there on the deck of your apartment?
My head was always in the clouds then.
I’d slip your shoes on and look up at you smoking a cigarette, Looking for signs from above.
Be were only something brief but you are a chapter in my book both silly and sad.

My name is Rubi, I’ve been writing since I was 13 years old. Writing has been a form of therapy for me while going through traumatic experiences. Most of my poems speak of substance abuse, relationship abuse, thoughts of suicide, and self worth. My darkest moments were when my poetry blossomed.
