Eternal Decision

Beware oh you my children there’s a trick that’s being played

What I am about to tell you are not words that serenade

When finally you’ve heard both sides and a decision now is due

You may find it very difficult to decide which voice is true

The first espouses “live your life! If it feels good then it’s fine”

The second speaks of “higher call” and things that are divine.

The crafty Machiavellian says, “manipulation is the trick”

While the travelling evangelist speaks of blessing and the healing of the sick

The choice you make, the life you lead - I cannot tell you how to choose

But rest assured that once life’s done the wrong choice yields much to loose

When your eyes are finally closed on the other side of life

It’s either the preachers or the self-indulged who will be finally proven right!
