Arbor's Summer Fling by Gregory Cicio
It was a bright August morning
The trees were infatuated with the sky’s great power
Their leaves lapped at the heavens as if to suckle of its sustenance
Roots bulging with excitement
Branches reaching out in ecstasy
Leaves inhaling the sweet aroma of the late summer breeze
No thought of tempest or storm
No modesty in the midst of the surrounding neighbors
For the seasons had been painfully long
Thirst and expectation had been in great supply
Yet now in these unscripted moments they are one with the heavens and it is glorious
