Waste Of Time (but not of feelings)

January 17th
On a freezing day
2017
I ran into you
Almost by chance
Not knowing that
Since the time elapsed
I'd've liked to know more of you
Make your acquaintance
Though I held back…why?
How? You refused to meet me half way
Introduced thy-self-instead to someone else who stood
Beside me (swarthy guy, gypsy perhaps)
Only to convey
Your desire of
Shunning me
So Perfectly!
How can I win her trust
Her friendship, camaraderie, that
I so longed for … talking to?
Talk and talk and exchange ideas
About Life, about laughing out loud
At funny stuff,
Jokes
In the midst of this life
We take so...
Serious?
In spite of my efforts to run into you
Again
My wings of hope were severed by the shady yet in your mind strongly-entrenched Entourage
As if wanting to convey - ON YOUR BEHALF MAYBE
With your gullible nod of approval to lies
Professed against me by the others (in your Entourage):
"BRIGID is unwilling to make the acquaintance of EVIL THEE!"
Every counter-effort has been made in spite of my strong will
And thanks to your naivete's youthful yet gullible belief
Leaning your dutiful ear to the evil entourage spilling
Their evil rumors - unwarranted lies about me,
So you gave in to have it their way
To keep me from you, far away…

Whether with your knowledge
Or unbeknownst to you.

I've tried calling you, my much younger friend
Just with my heart
But to no avail
I know nothing of your number,
Nor your address,
I just blindly searched for your soul
In this dark, evil world
Because once you and I become connected
The evil darkness surrounding us
Dissipates. Like the fog pierced by the sun rays,
It will gleefully trot away…
So will the rumors and your instilled fears,
They will
Once and for all disappear.
Because all that matters is that our souls
Be lit
With joy
Laughter, trust, and the pleasing sound
Of what I would've liked
To call
My much-younger friend's laughter
The clinking sound of her chipper voice
Speaking lightly of someone else's banter.
So as the story goes, the much younger lady
I met that cold day in January
Whom I'd've liked to call a much-younger-friend
Thinks of me as being not much of a friend
But rather some hideous creature
Who constantly pesters her with his rare-omnipresent apparitions
She'd rather not see ghostly me around at all
Thanks to the others - her Entourage Members' devilish
About-Me-Ill-Willed-Lying rumors
I try to think - "Oh, where did I go wrong?"
Why the distrust?!
Why the repulsion!?
Of her towards me - when she sees me??
Other than
It must have been instilled
In her young, gullible mind
By OTHERS who
Have added fuel to her own burning thoughts
About Brigid's innocence's imminent peril.
Rest assured, dear -
As I would like to call you
"My much younger friend" -
Brigid
I'm just an observing person
When I have my glasses on -
A person who in time
Became enthralled with
Your prowess, your physical abilities
I wish I'd been the same strength, same will-powered as you
Hence my name does not spell
The meaning of Strength in some
Old-Norse, Gaelic language of times past:
B-R-I-G-I-D. As yours does.
My Old Slavonic name instead expresses fear of God
B-O-G-D-A-N
And Thankfulness of what comes my way
Because I'm quite certain
He laid it out for meager me
To include
By Chance
Crossing Paths
With
Fair Thee.
