The Escapist

The past is gone...
Eludes all that try to ensnare
and capture it
Their caged minds cannot hold
memories sold
Fleet of foot and unwavering
Resistant to our constraints
and complaints
The future is coming
and is more apt
for your warm embraces
It will accept and change you
Bring you peace for past wrongs
Salvation for what could be
and should be.
Let the past go,
accept life as it is and will be
