Gone
Kenneth R. Jenkins 1961 (Augusta, GA)
In memory of Martha K. Newton and Amanda P. Newton
and then I looked around.....
I stepped back and breath
Taking each breath like there's no more.
The rush of memories flood my mind
The tears started to flow
And my heart heavy with grief.
I wanted to ask "why Lord why"
But it only comes back in whispers
Like a raindrop following from the sky falling.
There's a time to morn
Remembering the times of our lives.
God knew what was best
In times like these----
Like times like these we need a Savior.
Remembering you---
I took a breath
And you've gone away
Sailed away to the sea so distant.
Remembering you---
I took a breath
And now you're gone....
