The Battle Rages

The touch of their hands can say more than a thousand spoken words.
It’s a different feeling than someone I haven’t seen or never heard.
It reminds me of the place lost time where a baby laid.
Fore it’s to him each day, they all say that we should pray.

Although I really care, about them over there.
It’s just here, I can see and feel their pulse.
And you can send them my prayers.
 Lord only knows I have a few to spare.
But lately, they’ve needed so much more.

For are we all lost in the times.
And do I have the strength to find.
The reflection staring back at me.
And when they say you’re all alone.
Tell them it will not last that long.
Fore you see, I have my friends and my family.

Someone had to begin it all somewhere.
So, we forgot all our troubles and left behind all our fears.
And decided there was no better time than here.
For someone had to begin it all somewhere.

Only four years old, don’t even know what’s wrong.
In my dream, the battle rages with the fear it won’t last too long.
Awakened by silent whispers, that turn into the wind.
For the greatness of life and the horror of pain will help us carry it through the end.

In the emptiness of the room, I could sense a darkened gloom
 and the deep cold trembles of despair.
Silent pounding hearts echoed through my head.
The broken wings of angels left where they were shed.
The exalted one had departed, and we alone were left to decide.
All heads bowed in the struggle of the mind.
Only tears could anyone fine.
For the middle road had all but turned to stone.
Faces fixed with glowing stares, suddenly they rose from their chairs.
To give the gift of life, one more chance to grow.
Now I said my goodbyes and walked through the night.
Knowing the new day would not make it right.
But someone, had to begin it all somewhere.
