Narcissistic Sojourn

How does it perpetrate
constantly bullying the expecting hour?

You know, you just go on,
I gather its just in there, duel of self reign.

How can that be?
Just taking up some kind of
possessive residence, I suppose.

Born in strife
carrying backpack of rocks
trying to make sense
of the whole scenario in act mode.

Not the virtue to pursue give and take
that would unload some hate,
into love's stage play,
a daily rehearsal, to make it right.

Tear ducts blocked from yearning sight
no conscious effort to see more sweetly concise.

As petals will fall, an analogy of sorts
feel betrayed in its own air space, again.

Drawn to certain death
the memory depressed drags on.

Just can't
bring together ends redemption
meeting of the minds
starting to freeze up, again.

Empathy to understand
to laugh and cry,
feel moment's tide, of each confrontation.

Memory digs despair
but can't meet up, with deceit hidden, so deep,
its rooted with fabrications
of its own version of truth.

In blank palms only, it surmises to itself,
no life-line connecting compassion, still struts,
I'm the best from the one and only.
