The People Of Derry

The People Of Derry.

The people of Derry are unique
For in-spite of historical division
They are now blooming like a rose.
The latter being the symbol of love
And the only cure for the problems
Of humanity including our historic
City alongside the Foyle.

A development to be welcomed for
Many citizens subscribe to being
Christian whose founder stated:
By this shall all know that you are
My followers by your love for one
Another.

Oh, yes, fair Derry by the Foyle is
Blooming with love inspite of its past!
An objective to be fully realised for
There exists those who manipulate
Religion for political purposes as
Many have done previously.

But how can such bazarity continue
In face of the fact that the Christian
Bible emphasises that our Creator is
An eternal being whose nature is love
Itself and who because of his nature
Created the world and sent his only
Son known as Jesus to defeat all that
Is opposed to his very nature.Which
Unfortunely resulted in Christians killing
Each other on his behalf.

Oh, yes, inspite of history the seeds of
Love are coming to life on each side of
The Foyle and blooming as never before
Since the time of Colmcille.
