Pitch Black Skies

the depths of hell I have visited
to and fro, traveling about
making a deliberate scene and slicing my way through all the way to you.

being shall cease
with a beat, thump,
beat as they cry and cry through pitch black skies and cry by the river in remembrance of you.

thinking has become less than pleasant
and I see your incessant desire
thoughts are not illustrative of this
dream I’ve admired

all these years, all these years
making and breaking my
mind through perilous woes and determined foes they’ve succeeded at their heinous intent.

I’m tired, I’m tired
I’ve no desire left
Oh vicissitude, oh joy, what dreams they are
But I’ve never seen something so far

Away, away my love
They’re coming for us
The demons of hell approach our cell
Intending to destroy, destroy, destroy
Making us, taking us, forgetting us.

Forgetting our passions, our time and our play
Pitching it to the dismal yesterday
All for naught, and sharp as a tack
They cut our memories, snap, snap, snap.
