The Poet Of Derry.

Born and reared in the city of Derry
Alongside the river Foyle where
He grew to love the bardic art
Which daily became his toil…

Bearing rhyme and rhythm
Along with elements of prose but
What he wrote was welcomed
As if it was a verbal rose.

The contents of his verse bore
Beauty, truth, and love and was
 Welcomed by poetry lovers
Beyond the city which he loved.

Yes, a lover of the bardic art
From a city of history and culture
Was destined to touch the human heart
By what he wrote about nature.
