So many little flowers
Drop their tiny heads
But newer buds come to bloom
In their place instead.
I miss the little flowers
That have gone away.
But the newly budding blossoms
Are equally gay.

Langston Hughes

James Mercer Langston Hughes was an American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright, and columnist. He was one of the earliest innovators of the then-new literary art form called jazz poetry.
