Same Moons

I see so much of her in you and you in her.
Same moons, same suns, and I am in between.
I think that is why you drive me so crazy.
She used to drive me crazy too until I remembered how to love her.

To really love her. Unconditionally that is.
And I thought I felt the same way for you.
You are the first one I want to call and that’s why I often scroll past your name.
I don’t trust you.
And I don’t know why.

Like her, you choose to withhold the juicy stuff. You won’t tell unless asked and if asked you wouldn’t tell.
It isn’t important. It isn’t any of your business, you’d probably say
with eyes instead of words.
“What are you thinking about,” you’d say instead.
You seem indifferent and I think that’s why I’m drawn to you.

My spell never worked on you.
And even if it had, I’d never know.
I used to want to drop everything for your call.
But I missed too many moments to go there again.
Because, I don’t trust you.
And I don’t know why.

Your voice calms me when it’s now, and makes me nervous when it’s then.
How could it feel as if you were out to get me and save me at the same time.
Is that my sign?
You care on lines and face to face and then forget all the rest.

I’ve read so many books but
I couldn’t read you,
even though I thought I recognized the title of your book.
But the cover never matches does it?
What do you want from me that I keep giving?
Why am I still here? Why are you still there?
I don’t believe the feeling was ever mutual.
I’ve given far too much.

But you remind me so much of her, and I love her with all my heart.
I don’t trust you.
And I don’t know why.
I love you with all my heart,
and I don’t know why.
