Love and dating and mating

--
Love is a struggle for equanimity
Today in the city there’s just calamity
She thinks you have aids or is afraid
Because you want to kiss or have sex
And what you've drunk isn't Kool-Aid
Birds high up in the trees
Sing your melodies
But the picnics a bust
Because of ants or your lust
Dating is hard
When you're doomed from the start
Better have a strong heart
When it’s over and you break up
You can then drink from the loving cup
And you'll make up over and over
Till you're back in clover
All for one and one for all
but love has to make you fall
When you have meals together
And you eat her cooking
Better not be on a diet
Or you’re in for a fight
Then you better be looking
When she wants you to commit
Doesn’t mean you should submit
To her overbearing way
In love is hard to stay
Your ego takes a licking
While the clocks ticking
Meeting with her parents often takes awhile
In addition, you try hard to smile
and her mother won't leave you alone too long
Better be a minstrel with a song
To sing
Forget about the ring
Or that planned fling
If her father feels, you have money
That’s often the only thing
Once you have their blessing
Then bells can ring
Look out its kiddy time again
Now you chase away your best friend
Just to be alone with her
Just don't forget times with the guys
And the need to go to a bar for a beer
The in-laws you'll survive
Just give that bummy brother in law a five
Divorce often comes into it
When you're always in disagreement
When everything is a fight
Better make it right
No point being up all night
Fussing and trying to win your point
Love oh boy
What was that we started out to do?
Love a woman
Like the one in the old shoe
She’s all yours
Often you can’t go out and roar
Every which way but loose
Lookout, if you come home late
Your name is Bullwinkle
And you're not a moose
Budweiser won’t do
Love, love, love
It’s all you do
Just try to
And it’s all just to have sex
All in all quite a life
Just look out when you start to say
I want you to meet my wife
